I think it`s difficult to find children`s sports that can be played for the love of the game...especially when you have a child with special needs.
Sports can be so competitive to the point that they aren`t FUN, and often not adapted for ALL athletes.
I first heard about the Miracle League when I interviewed @macaronsonamission last year (check Sarah out for amazing macarons made by people of all abilities).
Then, @letterstonickandnoah and @gohomewithmary
filled me in on where our local Miracle League was, the incredible outreach they have within our community, and how to get involved.
This was a game changer in finding a place that allowed my son to play for FUN while embracing who he is.
The @mlnorthamptontwp provides amazing experiences to children and adults of all ages, teaching them all about how to play sports, while supporting all needs, and helping these athletes to fall in love with the game.
As a parent who has tried many different extra curriculars for my son, and seen the frustration in him when things are not adapted, this has been life changing. I see a smile every time he goes, and pride in achieving something that would otherwise be very difficult.

In honor of April being Autism Awareness and Acceptance Month, I would like to highlight some of my favorite businesses that benefit the autism community throughout the month.

He began his business as a way to give back to his local autism community through a fundraiser that succeeded more than he or his family was expecting!
