Where My Au-Some Journey is Now

It has been quite some time since I have posted on this blog. In fact, I don’t even know how many people I am reaching here (besides my family who I know is reading). We are in the age of AI, social media, and instant knowledge at our fingertips. I feel that words written by live humans surviving in this world are often forgotten.

So let me reintroduce myself. My name is Rachel. Mother to multiple neurodivergent children. Educator. Lover of travels. Fellow human surviving in a world that is looking drastically different by the moment.

When I started this blog, I was deep in the beginning journey of figuring out how my neurodivergent family would survive in a world not built for them. I was hoping to reach so many other families like mine. Hoping that we would come together and raise awareness while promoting resources to help one another.

A lot has changed since the beginning. I have added another child to my family mix, received more diagnosis for my children, met even more incredible people along the way, and started to find myself again.

Along this journey, God brought me to Modern Family Travel, LLC. Through twists and turns I found the next chapter in my individual journey. My passion for helping families like my own, led me to becoming an Autism Certified Travel Professional. My incredible boss decided I was worth the risk. 18 months later, I am deep in the life of being a Travel Agent. While I love highlighting local places that are autism-friendly, now I get to have a career traveling and experiencing locations that are autism-friendly!

For those of you still reading and following, thank you for being here. The next phase of this blog might look a bit different. But I can promise you more adventures, more accessible resources, and just as much heart.

We never know where life will lead. Becoming an Autism Certified Travel Professional? Having a job that is so much FUN and so rewarding? Turns out, this was the point…
